ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Anna. Being active is in my blood. I grew up on a farm, rode horses and ran competitively as a youngster before turning to the bicycle for my endorphin fix and mode of transport. When I got pregnant I was determined to maintain my strength and fitness but my body had other ideas. After a very challenging nine months I turned to Pilates to help me in my recovery. Pilates helped me regain my strength and confidence in my own body, but also challenged my definition of health. True health comes when both the mind and the body are aligned in harmony, and moving our bodies is FUN.

I have a PhD in Ecology and I have worked all round the world from Scotland to North America, Ecuador, Kenya and now Australia, but I have always had an inclining towards the health sciences. Finally, after settling here on the Sunshine Coast I decided to learn more about the body and functional movement.

I have completed a government accredited Diploma in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology, and am continually advancing my knowledge and expertise with specialist workshops and courses. I provide postural and movement assessments, and rehabilitative Pilates programming to ensure that each client's body can reach their full potential. I am passionate about helping others use the Pilates Method to aid in injury rehabilitation, correct muscular imbalances, prepare/recover from pregnancy, manage osteoporosis, manage Parkinson's disease, and to improve strength, balance, endurance and emotional well-being. My approach is holistic, recognising both the physical and psychological aspects of movement. My aim at ANNA PILATES is to provide a caring and supportive space where the needs of each individual are met.
